This cookie policy explains which cookies ApexGenTech uses, why we use them, and how you can change your choice.
Cookie policy: what cookies are and how we use them
Effective date: 1 January 2026 · Last updated: 1 August 2026
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember information between visits. We use them to run this site, and, only with your consent, to understand how it’s used and to measure marketing. Non essential cookies are only set after you choose to allow them in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
Cookies we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Required for the site to function, including remembering your cookie choice and keeping you signed in. | session_id, cookie_consent | Session to 12 months |
| Functional | Remembers preferences like language, region or dismissed notices. | locale_pref, ui_state | 6 to 12 months |
| Analytics | Helps us understand how the site is used, in aggregate. | _ga, _gid | 24 hours to 24 months |
| Marketing | Used to measure and improve marketing efforts, only where enabled. | li_ads, ads_pref | 30 days to 12 months |
Managing your cookie preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the site footer. You can also control cookies through your browser settings; check your browser’s help documentation for how to block or delete cookies. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data more broadly.
Plain language
What cookies are, in plain language
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return to the site, or move to another page, the browser sends the cookie back so the site can recognise you. That is how a site remembers that you are signed in, which language you chose, or that you already answered a banner like the one on this site.
Cookies are not programs and they cannot run on their own or read other files on your device. They hold small pieces of text, usually a random identifier, a setting or a date. Some belong to the site you are visiting, called first party cookies. Others belong to another service that the site uses, such as an analytics or scheduling provider, called third party cookies.
Similar technologies exist too, such as local storage in your browser, which a site can use to remember a preference without sending it back on every request. When we say cookies in this policy, we include these similar technologies.
Four categories
The four kinds of cookie we describe
We group cookies by purpose so that you can decide which ones you are comfortable with. The table above shows what each group does. In everyday terms they are as follows.
Only strictly necessary cookies are set without your consent. Everything else waits until you choose to allow it in the cookie banner, and you can change your mind at any time.
What each group is for:
- Strictly necessary cookies keep the site working and remember your cookie choice. Without them, basic features such as security checks and the cookie banner cannot work, so these are always on.
- Functional cookies remember preferences, such as a dismissed notice or a chosen region, so that you do not have to repeat yourself.
- Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used in aggregate, for example which pages are popular and where visitors leave, so that we can make the site clearer.
- Marketing cookies help us measure and improve marketing. They are only set where enabled, and only if you allow them.
Your choice
How consent works on this site
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept all cookies, reject the optional ones or manage them individually. If you reject, we set only the strictly necessary cookies. If you accept, we set the categories you allowed. If you manage preferences, you can switch functional, analytics and marketing cookies on or off separately.
Your choice is remembered on your device so that we do not ask you again on every page. Because it is stored in your browser, it applies to that browser only: if you use another browser or device, or clear your browser data, you will be asked again.
You can change your decision whenever you like with the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page. Changing it does not affect the pages you visited earlier, but it applies from that point on.
In your browser
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you see, block and delete cookies yourself, independently of our banner. The exact menu names change from time to time, but the steps below are a reliable guide.
Most browsers also offer private or incognito windows, which discard cookies when you close them. Blocking every cookie, including strictly necessary ones, may stop parts of this site from working, for example forms or booking widgets.
Where to find the controls:
- Chrome: open Settings, choose Privacy and security, then Third party cookies or Cookies and other site data.
- Microsoft Edge: open Settings, choose Cookies and site permissions, then Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Firefox: open Settings, choose Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: open Settings, choose Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
- On a phone: look under the browser app’s settings, or under your device settings for the browser.
Third parties
Cookies from other services on this site
Some features on this site are provided by other services. When you use them, the provider may set its own cookies, and its own privacy policy applies to how it uses them. Examples include the scheduling service that lets you book a call with us, embedded fonts and icons and, where enabled with your consent, analytics.
We choose providers carefully and only load optional ones after you agree. If you would like to know exactly which providers are active at the moment, write to privacy@apexgentech.com and we will tell you.
How long
How long cookies last
Cookies fall into two broad groups. Session cookies disappear when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device for a set period, from a few hours to a few months, and are removed automatically when that period ends or when you delete them. The table above gives typical durations for each category. We keep durations as short as is practical for each purpose.
Changes and contact
Changes to this policy and how to reach us
We may update this policy when we add or remove a feature, change a provider or when the law changes. The dates at the top of the page show when it was last revised, and where a change is significant we will make that clear on the site. For anything about cookies or your personal data, write to privacy@apexgentech.com, and see our Privacy Policy for your wider rights.
Why we ask
Why we ask before setting optional cookies
Many websites set tracking cookies the moment you arrive and bury the choice in small print. We think that is the wrong way round. Optional cookies tell us useful things about how the site is used, but they are not worth surprising you for. So we wait, we explain in plain words, and we let you decide.
Asking first also keeps us honest. If few people allow analytics, we simply have less data to work with, and we accept that. Our choices about the site are made on what we can fairly learn, and we would rather improve it slowly with your consent than quickly without it.
Your device
What stays on your device, and what does not
Cookies on this site do not contain your name, your email address or anything you typed into a form. They contain small identifiers and settings. The details you send us through a form or a booking are handled separately, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Deleting cookies is always safe. The worst effect is that the site forgets your choice and asks again. If you clear them regularly, expect to see the banner each time.
Children
Cookies and younger visitors
This website is intended for businesses and their staff rather than for children. Our separate education product, EALW, has its own arrangements for families. If you are a parent and you believe a child has accepted optional cookies on this website by mistake, you can clear them using the Cookie preferences link in the footer or through the browser controls described above, and you are welcome to write to privacy@apexgentech.com with any concern.

FAQ
Cookie policy FAQs
Do I have to accept cookies?
No. Only strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to work. Optional functional, analytics and marketing cookies are set only if you choose to allow them in the cookie banner.
How do I change my cookie choice later?
Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer of any page to review or change your choice at any time.
Why am I asked again on another device?
Your choice is stored in your browser, so it applies to that browser only. A different browser or device, or cleared browser data, will show the banner again.
Will blocking cookies break the site?
Blocking optional cookies will not. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop some features, such as forms and booking widgets, from working.
Do you sell information collected by cookies?
No. We do not sell personal data. See our Privacy Policy for how data is used and your rights.
